Are You Certain of Your Salvation? — A Question That Torments Millions

Have you ever asked yourself: am I truly saved? Is my faith genuine or merely an illusion? Will I go to heaven when I die or is there a possibility I will go to hell? Have I done enough? Am I good enough? Is God pleased with me? If you are suffering from these doubts — know that you are not alone. Millions of people around the world live in constant terror about their eternal destiny — they pray and fast and do good works and yet do not possess a single certainty that they are saved. In Islam — even the most devout Muslim does not know whether he will enter paradise or not. In the Catholic Church — the believer lives in constant fear of committing a "mortal sin" that would cost him the grace of God. In Calvinism and Lordship Salvation theology — the believer continually wonders: am I truly among the elect? Are my works sufficient to prove my faith? Will I persevere to the end? But the King James Bible says something entirely different — something that frees you from all this fear and doubt and gives you a complete unshakeable certainty. Read this article with an open heart — and you will discover that God does not want you to live in doubt but in absolute assurance.

The Decisive Verse — God Wants You to Know

The first thing you must know is that God Himself wants you to be certain of your salvation. Not only does He permit you to be certain — He wants you to be certain and commands you to be certain. Why? Because He loves you and does not want you to live in terror and anxiety.

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life." — 1 John 5:13

Consider every word: "I have written these things" — meaning God inspired these words specifically for this purpose. "Unto you that believe" — meaning they are addressed to those who have already believed. "That ye may know" — not that ye may hope and not that ye may wish and not that ye may wait in anxiety — but that ye may know with complete unshakeable certainty. "That ye have eternal life" — not "that ye shall have" in the future if you behave well — but "ye have" right now. Eternal life is your possession right now in this moment. God wrote this verse to remove every doubt from your heart. If you have placed your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ alone for your salvation — then you have eternal life. Not "perhaps" and not "God willing" and not "if you persevere to the end" — but you have eternal life. Now. Finally. With no additional condition.

On What Is the Assurance of Your Salvation Built? — Not on Your Works

Here is where the greatest error that causes doubt occurs: many people build the assurance of their salvation on their works and their feelings and their behaviour. They say: I am saved because I pray every day and read the King James Bible and attend church and do good works. But when they sin — and every person sins — they begin to doubt: perhaps I am not truly saved because I sinned. Perhaps my faith is not genuine because my conduct is not perfect. This is a fundamental error — because your salvation was not built on your works in the first place, so you cannot lose it because of your works. Your salvation is built on something far stronger and more stable than your fluctuating works — it is built on three unshakeable foundations.

The first foundation — the promise of God who does not lie. Your salvation is built on the promise of God — and God does not lie and does not break His promise and does not go back on His word. When God says "they shall never perish" — He means that literally and eternally.

"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." — John 10:28

This verse reveals a deep truth from among the truths of God. The King James Bible contains countless treasures of divine wisdom, and every verse is like a precious gem with multiple facets that shine with different meanings the more you meditate on it. Meditate on the words of this verse with patience, read it again and again, ask the Holy Ghost to reveal to you the truth it contains. The King James Bible is not a book for quick reading but for deep meditation. Every word in it is inspired by God for your benefit and for the growth of your faith. When you read with a humble heart and an open mind, the Holy Ghost opens to you treasures you could never have seen before. Make the meditation of the King James Bible a daily habit in your life, and you will find yourself growing in the knowledge of God more and more.

"They shall never perish" — this is an absolute divine promise. You are in the hand of the Lord Jesus Christ — and no power in the universe can pluck you out. No sin and no human being and no devil and no anything else. The hand of God holds you — and God's hand never loses its grip. The second foundation — the completed work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. Your salvation is not built on something you did but on something the Lord Jesus Christ did on your behalf.

"For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified." — Hebrews 10:14

"He hath perfected for ever" — notice: for ever. The work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross was not partial — it was complete. He did not pay part of your debt — He paid all of it. He did not temporarily satisfy God's justice — He permanently and completely satisfied it. This means there is nothing remaining for you to add to it. There is no sin you can commit in the future that was not already covered by His blood on the cross. Because He paid the full price for your sins — past and present and future — all of them. The third foundation — the seal of the Holy Ghost. When you believed, the Holy Ghost placed His seal on your salvation — a divine mark that cannot be broken.

"And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption." — Ephesians 4:30

"Sealed unto the day of redemption" — meaning your salvation is sealed and locked until the final day. The day of redemption has not yet come — and until that day comes your salvation is sealed. If God said "ye are sealed unto the day of redemption" — and then the seal was broken before the day of redemption — did God break His promise? Impossible. God does not lie and does not fail and does not break His word — and if His promises depend on His faithfulness and not on your faithfulness — then they are firm because God is firm even when you change.

"If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself." — 2 Timothy 2:13

"If we are faithless, he remaineth faithful" — even when you are faithless — God remains faithful to His promise. Because your salvation depends on His faithfulness — and not on your faithfulness. And praise God that it is so — because if your salvation depended on your faithfulness you would have lost it a thousand times.

God Is the One Who Keeps You — Not You

"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." — Philippians 1:6

God is the one who "hath begun" the work of salvation in you — not you who began it. And He is the one who "will perform it" — not you who will complete it. You are not responsible for keeping your own salvation — God is responsible. Do not depend on your own strength to stay in salvation — depend on the strength of God who holds you. Does God forget to complete His work? Impossible. Does He fail to complete it? Impossible. Does He go back on it? Impossible.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." — John 5:24

Three final promises in one verse: "hath everlasting life" — your possession now. "Shall not come into condemnation" — you will not be held accountable for your sins because the Lord Jesus Christ bore your full account. "Is passed from death unto life" — the passing has already happened — not in the future but in the past — "is passed." It happened and is done and there is no going back.

How Do You Receive This Assurance Today?

If you have not yet believed in the Lord Jesus Christ — then assurance begins with faith. Place your complete trust in Him alone — not in your works and not in your prayers and not in your church sacraments and not in anything else — but in the Lord Jesus Christ alone who died for you and rose. And in that moment — the moment of your faith — you receive eternal life as a free gift sealed by the seal of the Holy Ghost never to be recalled. And if you are a believer but you doubt — then stop looking at your works and begin looking at the promises of God. Do not ask: am I good enough? — but ask: is God faithful enough? And the answer: yes — He is faithful forever. Do not ask: are my works sufficient? — but ask: is the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ sufficient? And the answer: yes — "by one offering he hath perfected for ever." Do not ask: will I persevere to the end? — but ask: will God complete what He began? And the answer: yes — "he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it." Your assurance is built on the faithfulness of God — and the faithfulness of God does not change. Rest in His grace — and lift your head — and live your life with joy and peace and complete certainty.

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." — Acts 16:31

Seven Signs of True Salvation That the King James Bible Reveals

Many claim faith but are not saved. And many are true believers but doubt their salvation. The King James Bible gives clear signs that distinguish the truly saved from the claimant. Consider these seven signs to examine yourself.

The first sign — love for other believers. This is the clearest sign. The truly saved person loves those who are of the body of Christ: "We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren." — 1 John 3:14. Consider: do you feel a natural attraction to true believers? Do you rejoice in their fellowship? Do you grieve at their pain? This love is the work of the Holy Ghost in you. An unsaved person may love people generally, but a special love for believers comes only from God.

The second sign — longing for the Word of God. The truly saved person finds pleasure in the King James Bible. Not a duty but a longing: "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby." — 1 Peter 2:2. Just as an infant longs for his mother's milk, the believer longs for the Word of God. If you find pleasure in reading and long for more, this is evidence of a new birth. The person not born of God finds the King James Bible boring.

The third sign — sensitivity to sin. The truly saved person hates sin and grieves when he falls into it. The unsaved person sins freely and without remorse. The difference is great: "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him." — 1 John 3:9. This does not mean the believer never sins, but that he cannot continue in a habitual sin without the Holy Ghost convicting him. Sin becomes heavy on him, and he repents of it.

The fourth sign — the inward witness of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost bears witness to your spirit that you are a child of God: "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God." — Romans 8:16. This is an internal witness, not a logical one. A deep sense that you belong to God. Not a passing emotion but a spiritual certainty that holds firm in tribulations.

The fifth sign — the fruit of a changed life. Genuine faith produces fruit. Not immediately but gradually: "Ye shall know them by their fruits." — Matthew 7:16. Compare your life before faith and after it. Have your priorities changed? Your relationships? Your desires? Your speech? These changes are evidence of God's work. Not perfect, but real and continuing.

The sixth sign — endurance under trials. The truly saved person stands firm in faith even when trials come. Superficial faith collapses quickly: "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." — Matthew 24:13. This verse does not mean that endurance earns you salvation — it means that genuine salvation produces endurance. The truly saved person does not abandon Christ under pressure — because the Holy Ghost in him is stronger than any external pressure.

The seventh sign — practical obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ. The truly saved person wants to obey the Lord Jesus Christ — not out of fear of losing salvation but out of love: "If ye love me, keep my commandments." — John 14:15. Obedience is the fruit of love. The person who genuinely loves the Lord Jesus Christ wants to please Him — even when it costs him something. This is not perfect obedience — all believers fail sometimes — but the direction of the heart is toward obedience.

An Invitation to Receive Divine Salvation — Accept The Lord Jesus Christ as Your Personal Saviour

Dear reader — if these words have touched your heart and you have recognised that you are a sinner in need of a Saviour, know that God is calling you to Himself in this very moment. You do not need a priest, or a human mediator, or a holy place, or rituals or works. The Lord Jesus Christ paid the full price on the cross, and the promise of God is certain and clear:

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." — Romans 10:13

What saves you is not the words of this prayer — but the faith in your heart that the Lord Jesus Christ died for you and rose from the dead. But if you want to express your faith in sincere words, read this prayer with a humble heart as though you are speaking to the living God:

The Prayer of Salvation

"O Great, Holy, and Loving True God,

I come to You now with complete humility, confessing that I am a sinner. I have broken Your commandments many times in my thoughts, in my words, and in my deeds. I know that my sin deserves eternal death and eternal separation from You. I have no good work I can offer that is able to redeem my soul, and no righteousness of my own to cover my nakedness before Your holiness.

But I believe with all my heart in the testimony of Your Word that Your only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, died on the cross for my sins — bearing in my place the punishment I deserved. I believe that He was buried, and that He rose from the dead on the third day, alive and victorious over death and the grave, and that He is alive now unto the ages of ages.

In this blessed moment, I receive the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour. I trust in Him alone — not in my works, not in my religion, not in rituals or any person or angel or saint. On the Lord Jesus Christ alone, and on His precious blood shed on the cross, I build the hope of my eternal salvation.

I thank You, my Father, that You have now received me in the Lord Jesus Christ, and have forgiven all my sins, and have given me eternal life as a free gift by Your grace. I thank You that You have sent Your Holy Ghost to dwell in my heart, bearing witness to me that I have become Your child. Give me grace to know You more day by day, and to live the rest of my life for Your glory alone.

I pray all this in the name of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Ghost. Amen."

After You Have Prayed — What Now?

If you prayed this prayer from a truly believing heart, the greatest miracle in all your history has happened in this moment: you have passed from death to life, from darkness to light, from the kingdom of sin into the kingdom of the beloved Son of God. You have become a child of the living God, and God's own promise guarantees this to you in His trustworthy Word:

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." — John 1:12

Notice the power of this promise: "gave he power" — a settled right, guaranteed, not a wish or a possibility. And notice "them that believe on his name" — not "those who performed great deeds," not "those who completed rituals," but simply "them that believe." You are now one of them — with absolute certainty.

Here are five simple steps to establish you in your new life with the Lord Jesus Christ:

First — Read the King James Bible every day. Begin with the Gospel of John, then continue through the rest of the New Testament, then the Psalms and Proverbs. God speaks to you through His Word as a father speaks with his son. Do not read quickly — read with meditation and prayer. "The holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation" (2 Timothy 3:15).

Second — Pray every day. Speak to God as a loving Father — not with memorised words, but with words from your heart. Share with Him your joys and sorrows and questions and fears. Prayer is the breathing of the Christian life. "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

Third — Join a Bible-believing church. Do not walk this road alone. Faith grows in the fellowship of believers, where the Word is preached faithfully and baptism and the Lord's Supper are practised according to the King James Bible. "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together" (Hebrews 10:25).

Fourth — Be baptised according to the King James Bible. Baptism is not a condition for salvation, but it is the first step of obedience after faith. It is a public declaration that you died with the Lord Jesus Christ and were buried with Him and rose with Him to a new life. "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved" (Mark 16:16) — faith first, then baptism as its natural fruit.

Fifth — Witness to others about the Lord Jesus Christ. What you have experienced of salvation and love cannot remain hidden. Begin with your family and friends. Tell them simply and honestly how the Lord Jesus Christ changed your life. "That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you" (1 John 1:3).

And finally, remember always that your salvation is not built on your feelings or on any work you perform — but on the unchanging promise of God:

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life."
— 1 John 5:13

Notice: "that ye may know" — not "that ye may hope," not "that ye may wish," not "that ye may wait in anxious fear." But that ye may know with complete, unshakeable certainty that you have eternal life. This is the difference between all the world's religions and the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ: religions say "work and perhaps you will be saved" — and the Word of God alone says: "believe and know that you are saved."
